Plant It Forward

25th Annual Plant Giveaway

We are celebrating 25 years of sowing seeds of kindness as we beautify our community by giving plants to gardeners in Benton Harbor. Beginning in 2001, Janet McLelland invited members of the Shoreline, Four Flags and Highcliffe garden clubs to join us in providing annual flowers, perennial plants, vegetables, shrubs and houseplants to share (many dug from our own gardens, others purchased). Along with tools, dirt and containers we give gardening encouragement and advice to about a hundred gardeners annually in the community.

Label each donated plant with it's common name and whether it prefers growing in sun or shade.  Additional descriptions appreciated also!

All members should plan to donate money (in advance) and / or plants and / or volunteer.

Wear your IHGC apron if available, sun hat, comfortable shoes, and bring a wagon!
